Licensed Journeyman Electrician

The Licensed Journeyman Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in commercial and residential environments. This role requires strong technical knowledge, the ability to read and interpret plans, and the professionalism to lead apprentices and coordinate work on active job sites. The Journeyman ensures all electrical work meets code requirements, project specifications, and Bianco Electric’s quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Install and troubleshoot electrical systems including lighting, power distribution, equipment feeds, and specialty systems.

  • Run, bend, and install various types of conduit (EMT, PVC, RMC) and pull wire per NEC standards.

  • Read, understand, and execute work based on blueprints, schematics, one-line diagrams, and job specifications.

  • Lead, train, and mentor apprentices; delegate tasks and ensure proper workflow.

  • Coordinate with project managers, foremen, general contractors, and other trades to maintain schedule alignment.

  • Perform service and maintenance work, including diagnosing issues and completing repairs.

  • Ensure all work is compliant with National Electrical Code (NEC), local codes, and safety policies.

  • Document daily progress, material usage, and hours when required.

  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized jobsite.

Qualifications

  • Valid Journeyman Electrician License (state-issued).

  • 4+ years of field experience in commercial or residential electrical work.

  • Strong knowledge of NEC, local codes, and industry best practices.

  • Ability to lead small crews or work independently.

  • Proficient with hand tools, power tools, meters, and testing equipment.

  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb ladders, and work in various environments.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Reliable transportation and willingness to travel locally to job sites.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience running projects or leading onsite crews.

  • Ability to communicate clearly with project managers, inspectors, and GCs.

  • Familiarity with multi-family, commercial tenant finish, service upgrades, or industrial work.

  • Basic computer/smartphone skills for daily reports, emails, photos, and documentation.

Work Environment

  • Full-time position; job sites vary by project.

  • Indoor/outdoor work in all seasons.

  • PPE required and provided per company policy.
