Fire Alarm Installer

Job Summary

Bianco Electric is seeking a dependable and motivated Fire Alarm Installer to install, modify, and assist with testing fire alarm systems on commercial construction projects. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, detail-oriented, and able to work effectively with project managers, foremen, and other trades to ensure systems are installed according to plans, code, and manufacturer specifications.

Responsibilities

  • Install fire alarm devices, control panels, conduit, cable, and associated equipment.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, fire alarm drawings, and wiring diagrams.
  • Pull, terminate, and label fire alarm wiring.
  • Install conduit using EMT, PVC, and other approved raceway systems.
  • Mount and wire smoke detectors, pull stations, horn/strobes, annunciators, modules, and related devices.
  • Assist with programming, testing, and commissioning of fire alarm systems.
  • Troubleshoot wiring and installation issues.
  • Ensure all work complies with the National Electrical Code (NEC), NFPA 72, and local codes.
  • Coordinate work with general contractors, inspectors, and other trades.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
  • Complete required documentation, punch lists, and daily reports.
  • Operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, lifts, and other construction equipment safely.

Qualifications

  • Experience installing commercial fire alarm systems preferred.
  • Knowledge of NFPA 72 and NEC requirements is a plus.
  • Ability to read construction drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with low-voltage wiring methods and conduit installation.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening if required.

Physical Requirements

  • Lift up to 75 pounds.
  • Stand, kneel, bend, and climb throughout the workday.
  • Work from ladders, scaffolding, and aerial lifts.
  • Work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
  • Comfortable working at heights when necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

  • NICET Fire Alarm Certification (Level I or higher).
  • Nebraska Apprentice or Journeyman Electrician License.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Experience with manufacturers such as Notifier, Silent Knight, Siemens, Edwards, Honeywell, Potter, or Simplex.
